About the event

Join Dr. Jasmine Gandhi, Medical Director of the Perinatal Mental Health Program at The Ottawa Hospital, for an engaging and informative webinar focused on the recognition and management of perinatal depression. Designed for healthcare professionals who support individuals and families during pregnancy and the postpartum period, this accredited session will provide practical, evidence-based guidance to enhance clinical care.


Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the prevalence and impact of depression during the perinatal period.

  • Explain the stepped-care approach to managing perinatal depression and identify

  • resources and interventions available along the continuum of care.

  • Describe basic management and prescribing principles for depression during pregnancy and lactation, including the risks and benefits of treatment versus no treatment.

  • Identify the "red flags" of depression and recognize when to access additional support through Ask Masi.


Accreditation: This one-hour webinar has been certified by the University of Ottawa Office of Continuing Professional Development and is eligible for 1.0 Mainpro+ credit.
