About the event

Join Dr. Jasmine Gandhi, Medical Director of the Perinatal Mental Health Program at The Ottawa Hospital, for an engaging and informative webinar focused on the recognition and management of perinatal anxiety. Designed for healthcare professionals who support individuals and families during pregnancy and the postpartum period, this accredited session will provide practical, evidence-based guidance to enhance clinical care.


Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the prevalence and impact of anxiety in the perinatal period. 

  • Explain the stepped-care approach to managing perinatal anxiety and list at least two possible resources or interventions along this continuum. 

  • Describe the basic management and prescribing principles for anxiety in the during pregnancy and lactation, including the risks and benefits of treatment versus no treatment. 

  • Identify the “red flags” of anxiety and Ask Masi when additional support is needed. 


Accreditation: This one-credit-hour webinar meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development for 1.0 Mainpro+ credits. Session ID - 303800-003.
