Statement of Inclusion

Our Network is dedicated to providing inclusive and respectful healthcare that upholds human rights and fundamental freedoms for all.

Our Network is committed to building and maintaining collaborative relationships with diverse communities to ensure that every individual and family's perspectives and experiences are recognized and supported.

We recognize that the term “women” is inclusive and encompasses cisgender women, transgender women, Two-Spirit individuals, non-binary people, and others who identify with or are impacted by women’s health.

We also acknowledge that not all individuals who access services traditionally associated with women’s health identify as women. To reflect this, we strive to use gender-inclusive language such as “birthing families” and “pregnant persons.”

Our approach is grounded in respect, inclusivity, and person-centred care—honouring each individual’s identity, lived experience, and right to equitable, culturally safe healthcare.

The Women and Children’s Health Network acknowledges that we are situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek Nation. We acknowledge the enduring presence of the Indigenous Peoples of this region, specifically, the Tri-Council First Nations comprised of Beausoleil First Nation, the Chippewas of Rama and the Chippewas of Georgina Island.
