Patients requiring low risk pregnancy-related D&C procedures for spontaneous, missed, or therapeutic abortions can now be referred directly from primary care to OSMH Surgical Services.
This enhancement aims to:
Eliminate a step for patients (no longer needing to visit the OBGYN office prior to their procedure (the surgeon will counsel them prior to the procedure).
Decrease surgical case bumping - there is now allocated OR time.
Overall enhance the process for spontaneous, missed, and therapeutic abortions for patients.
